I was tasked with creating a set of four stamps that related to an internationally recognized designer. The set had to be cohesive and include the designer’s name.
For my designer, I chose Elaine Lustig-Cohen. I was moved by her story and found her work with typography as illustration fascinating. I started this project with research, learning more about Lustig-Cohen’s life and her most recognizable pieces. From there, I started recreating her style, replacing original phrases with her name. Throughout the process I struggled a bit with making the stamps a set, but by the end I found a color palette and layout that worked for the stamps.
